Noise at Work Course


At Highland Training Solutions, we deliver Power Tool Safety training courses throughout the year in partnership with STS in Dingwall, just 15 minutes drive from Inverness. Alternatively, we can deliver this on site in the Highlands & Islands or anywhere across Scotland.

• Assessment: Multiple Choice Test Paper
• Certification: Each successful delegate will receive a Certificate of Training (valid for 3 years)
Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) place duties on people and companies who own, operate or have control over work equipment. PUWER also places responsibilities on businesses and organisations whose employees use work equipment, whether owned by them or not.
PUWER requires that equipment provided for use at work is:
• suitable for the intended use
• safe for use, maintained in a safe condition and inspected to ensure it is correctly installed and does not subsequently deteriorate
• used only by people who have received adequate information, instruction and training
• accompanied by suitable health and safety measures, such as protective devices and controls. These will normally include measurement of noise, means of isolation from sources of noise, clearly visible markings and warning devices
• used in accordance with specific requirements, for mobile work equipment and power presses

Who should attend this course
The course is aimed anyone who is required to use noise emitting equipment during the course of their work, to ensure safe use and thus preventing injury

• How to define what is meant by noise in the workplace & how it is created
• How to relate how it can affect your health and lead to injury
• To inform you of the legal duties imposed by modern legislation
• Inform you of how to comply so as to ensure the health & safety of everyone who may be affected
