At Highland Training Solutions, we deliver Abrasive Wheels training courses throughout the year in partnership STS in Dingwall, just 15 minutes drive from Inverness, Alternatively, we can deliver this on site in the Highlands & Islands or anywhere across Scotland.

Who should attend this course:
Persons who operate angle grinders, cut off saws, bench grinders and bench top cut off saws.
Course Content
• Overview of health and safety legislation
• Precautions against hazards and risk control measures including contact, wheel burst, noise, respiratory and HAVS
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Types of abrasive wheel machines and their safe use.
Resin and vitrified bonded abrasive wheel selection, marking, identification and inspection – types 1, 27, 41 & 42 (including practical exercise)
• Correct use, setting, adjustment and inspection of flanges, guards and accessories
• Pre-use machine safety checks (including non-live practical exercise)
• How to mount abrasive wheels on angle grinders, chop saws, disc cutters, bench and pedestal grinders including practical demonstration.
• How to true, dress and balance vitrified abrasive wheels on bench and pedestal grinders
• Safe Working Practice
